어느 게임 프로듀서의 기도(A Game Producer's Prayer)

몇달 전, 야근으로 지친 몸을 이끌고, 지하철에서 '어느 소방관의 기도(A Fireman'S Prayer)'을 보았을 때, 왠지 뒤통수를 딱 맞은 듯 했다.

"이거 왠지 나와 같잖아!"라는 생각에 낼름 영문 원본을 찾아서 함께 개작해버렸다. (교정해준 Khazad 님께 감사.)

제가 업무의 부름을 받을 때는
사장님,
아무리 열악한 조건 속에서도
한 게임을 구할 수 있는 인력을
제게 주소서.
When I am called to duty, my boss
Whatever the project is,
Give me talented and committed team players to save a game
Whatever be its phase.

너무 늦기 전에
철야로 지친 개발자를 감싸안을 수 있게 하시고,
버그에 대한 분노로 떨고 있는
게이머를 구하게 하소서.
Help me embrace an exhausted developer in crunch mode
Before it is too late
And save a gamer from
The horror of bugs and errors.

언제나 출시에 만전을 기할 수 있게 하시어,
아주 작은 버그까지도 발견할 수 있게 하시고,
신속하고 효과적으로 해킹을 진압할 수 있게 하소서.
Enable me to be alert and notice the smallest bug,
And allow me to quell the attempts at hacking
Swiftly and effectively.

저희 업무를 충실히 수행케하시고,
제가 최선을 다할 수 있게 하시어,
저희 모든 관계자들의 일자리와 봉급을 보호하고
지키게 하여 주소서.
I want to fullfill my calling and
To give the best in me,
To guard my every fellow workers and
Secure his/her job and salary.

사장님의 변덕으로
제 일자리를 잃게 되면,
고용 보험의 은총으로
저의 아내와 아이들을 돌보아 주소서.
And if according to your caprice
I am to lose my job,
Please bless with unemployment insurance
My children and my wife.
